It looks like it might be part of coin. Is it metallic and how large is it?

Yeah, it's not magnetic and it's approx 2.5cm.

From what I can make out, it's a cross through the centre with a cluster of 3 fluer do lis. I can't make out the letters as yet.

I'm wondering if it's a jeton. In which case the lettering will be nonsense anyway. Bit like this one?

Thanks very much for the link. It does appear very similar but the fluer de lis go off at an angle from the cross on mine. Very similar though. Thanks again.

No problem. There are lots of variations of Nuremberg jetons, which I seem to remember were made from brass. This one looks a bit more like yours. Confirmation of the type would be if you can see hints of a dolphin in the other quarters, or the reverse design matches.
