On the obverse I can make out Caeser but nothing else. I think I have the reverse the right way up.

It is 27mm, 9g and I think it may have been silvered.

I am in hubby's office and just had another look in different light. Possibley AVG on obv. Augustus? I thought I would be able to match the reverse, but no luck.

Almost certainly a provincial AE As. Temple reverse and the letters in Obv legend are outward facing. In order to ID with certainty will require some 'conservation'. I would bet it is a Julio Claudian but which one I don't know ! It may even be a female.
