Hello I'm new to the site and collecting, is there a reliable and honest coin Dealer/ Appraiser in the Tucson, AZ area? I don't want to get suckered by someone in a pawn shop.. I recently inherited a bunch of old coins that I would like to get appraised and advice on how to care for them.. again recommendations anyone?

Welcome to Coin Community, klevara. We have a respected member here who is a dealer in Casa Grande. If you'd like, I can arrange to possibly get you two together.

klevara: to the CCF!

I have been collecting and studying coins for decades.

I am also a gem cutter.
Tucson has the biggest gem and mineral show in the World. One of my friends visits yearly. He has brought back some very interesting gem material for be to cut.

I might be worth buying some old coin magazines and going through the adverts. Phone a couple of them, to see if their business suits your requirements. At least that way you can get access to a range of dealers across the U.S. that may be of interest to you.

Perhaps you might it suitable to subscribe to a coin publication

In the first instance, visit the coin dealer recommended by IndianGoldEagle, and ask if he has any backdate issues of coin magazines that may be going cheaply. Read some of the articles, that should give you some idea of which area in numismatics that you would like to collect.

klevara, Arizona has more than it's fair share of members from there.
Dont miss the mineral show, which sel mentioned. Besides everything from a polished rock to complete dinos, some vendors have coins, as well. IGE mentions a decent shop, in my old neck-of-the-woods. And you cant go wrong w/Rick. A little scouting around down there can prove fertile.
