Very cool! And you get a good look at the die's denticle pattern, which isn't usually evident on the centered strikes. You can always count on Jarvis and Co.'s lousy quality control. Do you already know the die variety?

That's all right; found the Goldberg catalog listing. I agree with the reverse M attribution, based on the WE ARE ONE letters, but more importantly, the clash that's still visible in the lowest ring. See the sunrays? But what makes them think the obverse is unattributable, just because the MIND YOUR BUSINESS legend doesn't appear? Only three obverses were paired with reverse M: 12, 19, and 22. One point of the cinquefoil after FUGIO on 22 points directly at the O; that's not this one. The I in FUGIO is too low for 19. This is 12-M.

One other neat thing that the clashed rays in that ring tell us: The coin didn't just move to the side to be struck a second time; it rotated a bit less than the width of a ring, or about 30 degrees, before being struck again. That ring should be lined up with the ST in STATES.

I would love to know how many hands this coin passed through while in circulation before being placed in one's coin collection I don't recall seeing any mid 19th Century and earlier USA or World double-struck coins in mint state condition, all seem to have been well circulated.
