Received my silver Louisbourg coin today and it got me thinking...
But first, thought I'd share an image of the coin. The
RCM's multiple finishes make for an attractive coin (IMO).

The coin's edge lettering surprised me a bit. I knew the coin was to feature a repeating pattern of an achor, fleur de lys and maple leaf on its edge, but I was expecting four or five groups of the three-symbol pattern at intervals around the edge. Instead, the coin features a tight, continuous repeating pattern of the symbols in a "maple leaf - anchor - fleur de lys - anchor" sequence. I counted 12 each of the maple leaf and fleur de lys symbols and 23 of the anchor.
What I'm wondering about is the consistency of the orientation of the edge lettering and the location of "Louisbourg 300" on the edge.
On my coin, the edge lettering is readable or "right side up" when the reverse of the coin is facing up.
In terms of where "Louisbourg 300" is located, it runs from about 2:30 to 4:30 (using a clock reference) on my coin.
Anyone have a coin with a different orientation/location of the edge lettering?
