Good idea. I thought about the same. But when I thought about proper display way, I would prefer to have them as boxed set (by RCM). So didn't want to buy them all as separate products. Bought just the Silver one - more traditional, elegant, and biggest among all three.

I was thinking the same thing like 3 Olympic medals in bronze, silver, and gold.

You're right. But I couldn't afford the gold with everything else.

I agree that it's a good idea but the gold is pricey and also the lack of "3-coins set display case" from the mint. If they are making a special set w/ nice maple wood box & charge an extra $100, limit to 1000 box then I'm sure that will be sold out w/in a week.

I'm surprised that the gold allegory has a mintage of 2000 and a price tag of $649.95 while the gold arctic fox had a mintage of 1500 and the same price. Weird!

same amount 1/4oz of gold, same 99.99 fineness - why should a different 'mintage' affect the price at the original sale level. I could see, in the 2ndary market, with a 'more rare' coin reflected with a higher price, but at the manufacturer/original release, they are fundamentally, the same coin.

I just assume the mint would do a complete set in a nice box to reflect all 3 coins and mintage of 1500 or even less with the other 2 coins

Different mintage numbers should affect the price from the manufacturer if two coins they are making are almost identical in all other characteristics, except the mintage numbers.

I would agree if it was 2, 20, or 200... but once you're over the 1000 mark, the cost of manufacturing becomes minimal in the final value of cost of the production of the coin. Where as the gold content remains the same. I'm sure the artwork was paid for by the time 500 coins are produced. The remainder is shear profit on the spot price of gold. Averaged over 1500 or 2000 coins set up, artwork, and production costs, makes little difference in the final 'sale price' of the coins.
Additionally.... Same artwork over 3 coins (Bronze, Silver, Gold)

Wow, the mint really does not want the general public to know about these coins. Still no mention of them on the website for non-masters folks.

I believe it will be released to the general public tomorrow. I've read on another forum that the limit lifted for Master Club members with reps has been increased from 1.

I don't know about what the reps have been instructed to do, but as of the time of this post all the coins that were made available for pre-order on the RCM website last week to MC members with a limit of 1 per household, still have the same limitation. These include the following: Fine Silver Coin - Mother and Baby Ice Fishing - Mintage: 6500 Fine Silver Hologram Coin - Dreamcatcher - Mintage: 10000 Fine Silver Coin - 300th Anniversary of Louisbourg - Mintage: 8500 1 oz Fine Silver Coin - Canada: An Allegory - Mintage: 8,500 Martin Short Coin - Martin Short Presents Canada coin Fine Silver Coin - Maple Leaf Impression - Mintage: 10000 Fine Silver Coin - Canadian Dinosaurs: Bathygnathus Borealis â€" Mintage: 8500 What will happen next when the coins are released to the general public is anyone's guess.
