Just got that email!

Don't think I could manage to know that that was in the house somewhere.

Not only is that thing hideous, it is double spot! Highly affordable? I think not.

This design looks artistic on soapstone. Doesn't work on a coin... I'd go so far as to say it's an insult to the Inuit people... ridiculous attempt and extremely high premium for gold...

Artwork should be left for artwork medals.
This design is not apropriate for coins.
The RCM got it wrong.

The RAM has occasionally made the same type of mistake in the past, with circulating commemorative coins, as well.

"Double spot"...
Dies, production, and distribution cost money...

@ Sel: Do you say that because medals are normally much larger than coins, allowing for sufficient details to show up?

I see the RCM artwork in this case to be much more appropriate for small medalettes, best for promotional purposes.
It would be rather nice, colour pad printed onto a thin aluminium bronze planchet.
For me, as is, I don't it really cut it, even for a PM NCLT issue.

Let's see how well it sells, as the RCM has issued it.
The proof of the pudding, as always, is in the eating.

Obviously, the Kennedys bribed them to make a coin uglier than the US Special Olympics commemorative.
