Brain fart,sorry
I'm looking and looking at the reverse of the PCGS coin and see nothing amiss except that it's not an 8/5.Then I see your pic and realize you're saying it's not the right reverse die.
Anyways,the PCGS coin does have the obverse associated with the 8/5.Is this a discovery you have made,or despite Charlton's,has this obverse been found previously with non 8/5 reverses?

Yes, that obverse was used with more than one reverse die.
