I was sorting through my small collection of coins and there are some that my father had that he passed down to me. I have scanned both sides of this 1895 20G coin. I have no idea what the value is or how scarce it is and was wondering if another member could enlighten me?

Thanks a lot

Bujutsu that is 1895 8 Real coin from Mexico. The catalog value of this coin is about $25. A coin dealer would pay you about 1/2 of this value if you sold it to them. These coins were minted from 1824 to 1897 and get more valuable as they get older. This coin contains 0.786 Troy ounces of silver so by doing 0.786 x spot value (found at kitco.com) you can determine its minimum value. Nice Coin!

Thanks for that zxccxz

I liked this coin from the first time I saw it. It was in my dad's collection even though he was not a serious collector.

Silver coins sure have a nice feel to them :)
