Another 20 Francs French gold coin from my collection. Any idea on value for this one?

Also have a similar 10 Francs coin from 1907, but in worse condition:

No takers? Or is it another case of only its value in gold content? I keep hoping there is something more valuable among the coins my grandfather gave me :-)

Rather than asking about each and every individual coin, you might try going on ebay, entering the proper type/date, and simply reviewing completed auctions.

In any case, the first one is beautiful - superb patina, excellent details ...
Many of those were used as bullion here, I don't know if they are valued much higher than their gold content (maybe there are variants, I don't know ... ebay does :D)

A quick glance in Kraus doesn't show any key dates or major varieties, sorry. Maybe a more specified collector can tell us something different.

Just seen this. The 20F is a lovely coin - better condition than my 1909 specimen of the same date, which I bought at 'cours' (bullion rate) from a French bank in 1979!

The May 2013 issue of the French monthly magazine "Monnaie Magazine" values the 1902 20F in VF at 345 euros and in EF at 575 euros. The 1907 10F is valued at 140 euros in F, 180 euros in VF and 350 euros in EF. I've always found the Third Republic 10 franc gold coins much scarcer than the 20 francs - perhaps they circulated less, or perhaps more of the 20F coins were hoarded and have survived.
