20 krone is about $3, so 35 krone is about $5, so you did okay there. Hong Kong $5 is about 70 cents or so. They're the ones I know of from current prices. I'd assume you have at least $20 worth of coins there.

I'd say many of your coins are worth less than $1 each, so I was not optimistic you got a good deal. But there are a few things that help out there, so I think you break even and can be satisified. The 500yen coin is still worth several dollars in exchange value. Combine this with the 100 and 10 yen and you have 610 yen in current exchange value. Google can tell you what that comes to. Of course you only realize a portion but they are easy to sell for 80% + on ebay. Some of the other coins like the Hong Kong $5 and Bahrain coins may still be legal tender but I have no experience trying to exchange those. The soviet union 1924 coin is interesting and probably worth a few dollars. I don't see the other side with the denomination. The french 20 francs is silver. Currencydebasement.com can give you an approximate silver weight and melt value.

The face-value here is pretty good. I have friends in Hong Kong, so I have a nice assortment of HK$ at home: have you taken a close look at your $5's edge? It's pretty neat! Your 20 francs should also be silver - about half an ounce, apparently. That's about $9. Along with those other world coins, silver, and old German/Austrian stuff, I think you got a great deal for $20. EDIT: Also, the Italian 20c looks to have a big die crack straight through it, which could be worth something. You may want to post better pictures of it

Okay, and using http://www.xe.com for conversion, I found these exact values for all your currently redeemable coins: 0.6 Bahraini dinar (600 mils) = $1.5935 Norse krone = $5.74610 Japanese yen = $6.275 Hong Kong dollars = $0.64Total = $14.24The numismatic and melt value of the others, when added, totally recoups your $20. Good buy :D

Wow guys! I didn't expect so much help, thank you!
To Flippy: Thank you for the detailed descriptions!
To Nalaberong: The Italian coin does have a huge die crack, and I know that gives American coins a better premium, would it be universal for all coins?
I now think I DID get my money's worth :) but guess what? These are not ALL the coins from the buy! I'll post the others when I get back from a couple's lunch (yea, my wife's idea, ha!) and i'll post a picture of all of them put together to show how many in fact I got from this deal!
Will post soon :)
