Hey guys I'm new to buying bullion and was wondering where you guys recommend buying it from in Canada. When do you think is a good time to invest in silver bullion? Tired of paying for way overpriced product from the mint. Cheers!

Quote: When do you think is a good time to invest in silver bullion? If your goal is investing only I would say not to use metals. Youd be better off in stocks. If however you did want to invest in metals I would highly recommend the ETFs. You can buy at spot, buy and sell in seconds, and you can also short them to make money on the way down.

I agree with baseball. Stocks pay dividends and in the long term because of dividends often are a better investment than Physical or even ETFs

I've never used either company so don't take this as a recommendation. The rest of your question gets tricky fast, though. There are lots of good reasons for buying and holding physical bullion. However, as a pure investment play? You'd probably be better served in the equities markets or, if you really want a metals play, sticking with the ETFs.

I use silvergoldbull.com being in Canada also. Cant say enough about them personally. $20 flat rate shipping, so makes sense to pick up at least 10oz at a time. JMHO. As for when is the right time? There is no real answer to that until it is too late. But if it means anything, I'm looking to get into buy mode right now but only a bit at a time. I think there is still downside, but not sure to where. I feel now is a pretty decent time to start. I try and always be buying. This is just me though for what its worth. CHEERS and

If you have a local coin shop, buy there and build up a repore with the owner. It helps with getting some deals in the future and when you want to sell. Buy a little at a time and only with money you can park for awhile. Metal is for financial insurance, not for making quick short term money.

Quote: Have you looked into the britannia silver bullion? The Britannia silver bullion coins are beautiful and very collectible. Originally, the silver Britannia was made of "Britannia silver" which was .958 fine. However, starting with the 2013 issue and going forward, Britannia's will be .999 fine silver.
