Im new in collecting greek/roman coins.
I just found out a little more about 1 of 2 coins I bought yesterday, the other is still unknown.
Maybe one of you guys can help me!

Soft details and a raised ridge on the edge indicates more than likely it is a cast fake of a Septimius Severus coin.

I didnt pay much for those 2 coins, still hoping its not a fake..

That would be a bad start

Well I can read VERVS AVG PART ARM which makes it a copy of Lucius Verus. A rather unimpressive copy at that.

Sorry to say but it gets a low rating on the fake scale

It is a fake, did you get both coins from the same dealer?

Any dealer who would sell this is not "official". Either he knows nothing about ancient coins ..... or he is a thief. Probably the former although if he refuses to take it back he is definitely the latter

Are you all 100% sure those are fakes? I really have to be certain of my case

Cant believe this dealer would sell fake coins
