I was looking at my dad's coin collection today and spotted this one. It looks like it could grade very well. It still has a real shinny mint luster to it, so as you're grading, see if there's any chance it could be a counterfeit. It's definately silver, but just seems too nice of condition to be real.

What's you're thoughts? Is it authentic and what would you grade it at?

Thanks

When I look at it, I can't tell if it's polished or in a Mint State. How does one tell? When I look with a magnifying glass, I can see several imperfections. If it was MS, would it look perfectly flat with no scratches?

Gary when coins are polished, the reflective surface will end in the centers of the lettering and around raised details.

You'll be able to see a "haze" surrounding the letters and numbers - it's pretty visible here. Not to mention, this coin has obviously seen a fair amount of circulation wear; the "shine" is totally incompatible with a coin this worn.
