New-Byzantine-And-Some-Questions

i'll be darned if I can figure out the atribution, antioch ment...but I can't tell if the mint mark is THU (pie symbol? what is that?) or THUP' or something weird that. the date looks like xxi with something below? and the ANNO looks to have a extra n? weird coin...anyone know what it is?

also, it seems to have some solid verdigris, nothing that comes of with a fingernail...so not bronze disease really...but should I treat with something? or should I chalk that this up as patina and let it go?

Ok, there are a few things going on here.
Justinian I, AE Follis, Antioch (Theopolis - THUP), RY 21, off. A (undertype) SB 220. THUP is just a variant of THEUP, also noted is THEUPO. The mint workers all spoke Greek, so the Latin legends were frequently blundered.
Looks to be overstruck on officina E of the same type. The mark below the I is the I on the overtype. Also notice the second set of serifs on the M above the base.
Looks like the overstrike was doubled, with the O obscuring the T in THUP. Not surprising to find the doubling on the reverse, the reverse was typically the top die.
Interesting find.
If you want to remove that green, a brass brush will work.

Correction, undertype is off. A, overtype is E. Just noticed, sorry for any confusion. Positioning of the A points to that being the undertype.

I would be inclined to leave the green there. It's not heavily corroding it's way into localised spots into the coin.
You see this sort of greening on copper sheathed roofs, and they do not require maintenance.
The contrast with the higher points in the relief helps with the appearance.
Analagous to a desert patina, in terms of appearance.
