I am considering purchasing this SLH, but wanted to know what the community thinks. He wants $80 for it, I just don't know... do surfaces look original? I don't want to pay that kind of money for a "details" coin. Thanks.

This one is same year and mint for the same price... doesn't have the scratches but appears to be lower grade.

In my non-professional opinion, I would grade this EF-40.

I don't see a cleaning from these pictures.

Concerns: Possible scratch at the obverse 9 o'clock (liberty's elbow outward) and possible rim ding (?) at obverse and reverse 3 o'clocks.

IMO, top dollar for this coin should be right at $80.

Surfaces look good. Looks original to me. VF35. I think $80 is a good price. Full retail would be $95-110. I'm not an expert on these so wait til you have a couple more opinions on it

Thanks, I've added another coin for the same price but it looks like a lower grade to me.

Thanks to everyone, I purchased the first one. My first nice SL Half, I have several quarters and dimes as I like the design it just took some time to find a half that I really liked.
