My first tet! Not the best one out there but it is appealing. Athena's head is a bit off center but on the plus side, the entire crest of her helmet shows, unlike some others I looked at. The reverse is also off center but in a pleasing way. Quote: PAMPHYLIA. Side. Ca. 205-100 BC. AR tetradrachm (16.89 gm). Head of Athena right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet / Nike advancing left, holding wreath; pomegranate and CT to left. Cf. SNG France 719ff. Toned Good Very Fine.

These come in a wide variety of styles with some being more appealing than others. This one come well along the appealing axis. The Athena is of lovely style , Nike has been well executed and is very dynamic in her pose. Add the two together and it makes a coin with great eye appeal. Another coin that I am jealous of. Regards, Martin

Thanks, everyone!
With that small patch of dark discoloration at her back foot, it looks like Nike is stepping off the edge of a cliff or cloud, ready to fly away. The drape and flow of her gown is very graceful and I love the way the wing follows the curve of the coin's rim. The more I look at this coin the more I like it. It was a bit of an impulse bid when I was going for that Pegasus stater and I had a few moments of buyer's regret, but no more :)
