I don't think that's dipped either. If the grade bothers you, bust it out of that slab... But regardless if you keep it raw or resubmit, it's a stunner!
I would probably bust it out, then after two weeks succumb to curiosity and send to pcgs ha.

If you bought it for less than MS63 money, you've made a great buy IMO. I'd crack it and submit to PCGS/ANACS.

I bought it at AU Bid with my current Grey Sheet which I know is a smoking deal, I contacted a local dealer to see if they are a PCGS member. If not I will send it ANACS

Quote: I bought it at AU Bid with my current Grey Sheet which I know is a smoking deal, Ya think? If you're cracking it, run it through some acetone before it leaves. Don't be afraid to let it stay overnight. If that's a "stain" as opposed to toning (doesn't look like toning to me) it's worth a shot.

I was at MS63 due to the contact mark on the cheek and dipped possibly (though an excellent job of dilluting the dip mixture) there is still a ton of luster present, a really nice looking half! Next time give us a day or so before posting the grade please!

I was going to guess MS-63. It didn't occur to me that it would receive a details grade. The obverse has a slight brownish tint but I thought it was just some light toning. I think it's worth a submitting again possibly after an acetone bath. Another good example of "buy the coin and not the slab."

I submitted it to ANACS and opted for their new conservation service. I will let you all know how she does!

I'd say MS64+ I would resubmit to PCGS for an actual # grade. Nice coin.

that stain is hardly visible to me. What would have caused a stain like that?
