Hey everyone, I just picked this 1833 Upper Canada "To Facilitate Trade" Token. However, I am not seeing it listed in my Krause. Does anyone have any info about my coin, such as the mintage figure (if known), the KM# (if one is assigned), and why it seems to have been left out of the Krause. Is it not recognized by the numismatic world as being a "coin," but rather a token? Thanks!

It is an Upper Canada sloop Token. Its Breton # is 730. I don't know what the mintage is. Hope that helps!

Nice grade! Easily worth $30.

noahs-numismatics- Thanks! That really does help!

Also, what do you think that the value of my coin would be? I paid $5 for it, and I hope that it didn't overpay given the condition.

For 5 bucks I think you did great! You may even be able to get 40 on a good day!

I love these tokens that have such great detail left. Definitely a nice score! Congrats!

nice token,

if you go to abebooks.com you can buy a digital copy ($10) of bretons 1894 canadian token guide, or paperback version for $20. just enter breton 1894 tokens into search bar, the reply will come back with a french title but it is an english (and french) book.

mintages, rariety, varieties and brief history shown for all tokens (hundreds)

With the "bowspirit" pointing to just above the last A in Canada - this token would be coinage alignment. It is listed in "Charltons" as UC-12B2, And is priced at $35.00 in VF and $75.00 in EF. There is another variety - with the bowspirit pointing between the DA of canada and is medal alignment. It is listed as UC-12B1, and lists for twice the amount.
