This seems to look a lot like K'ang Hsi (1662-1722) Boo-Yuwan, but the script looks different than examples online I've found. I'd love someone with some knowledge than I (that won't take much, as I'm just starting on these) to let me know what they think.

It is hard to tell from your picture to see if it is genuine or not, because coppers are easily to be counterfeited, and there are many of such fakes in China. If it is genuine, the price would be good, at around $1000. It was minted in 1662, diameter is 48mm.
Hope this information is useful to you.

$1000 is way off for a common coin. I'd put the price at US$3 for an acceptable BOR Kangxi.

Any other thoughts on the genuine or not side of things? The characters look so different on my example.

I don't see any reason to be suspicious of the coin.

There are many minor variations in calligraphy.

There is also a wide variation in the quality of manufacture. Some are very sharp and well defined while others are soft or muddy.

Depending on the economy at the time, they might be made to a different size and weight, or with a different alloy.

I agree with your interpretation of Kang Hsi and Boo Yuwan, and would personally just leave it at that.
