Hi ... new to this forum, but trying to figure out a coin I've had for some time. It's a 16-D nickel, but under a jeweler's loupe it has clear double die on the date and particular parts of the headdress (long feather).

I know there's a 16 DDO, but is there a 16-D that's identified? Or is it just common to these coins to have anomolies in the strike?

I'm not a coin grader, but it's full horns, at least EF, perhaps better.

That I know of there are no known doubled dies for the obverse of 1916D nickels. What you probably have is Machine Doubling, which would be common for all Buffalo nickels.
