Is There A 1916-D Doubled Die Obverse / DDO ?

JohnTammi New Member United States 1 Posts	Posted 05/27/2007 10:04 am Hi ... new to this forum, but trying to figure out a coin I've had for some time. It's a 16-D nickel, but under a jeweler's loupe it has clear double die on the date and particular parts of the headdress (long feather). I know there's a 16 DDO, but is there a 16-D that's identified? Or is it just common to these coins to have anomolies in the strike? I'm not a coin grader, but it's full horns, at least EF, perhaps better. Report this Post to the Staff

coppercoins Pillar of the Community United States 7629 Posts	Posted 05/27/2007 11:18 am That I know of there are no known doubled dies for the obverse of 1916D nickels. What you probably have is Machine Doubling, which would be common for all Buffalo nickels. Report this Post to the Staff
