As you see the unusual part on the eagles right leg and some of the leaves on the olive branch. There is strong die polishing below the eagle and between "NE DOL" of ONE DOLLAR. Is this a struck through error or just a simple die polishing variety? Sorry for my bad picture, not a good picture taker.

This looks to me to be struck through, a weak strike or a worn die. Is it me or do I see doubling in in god we trust.

Here are some better pictures I guess? It's a raw coin, not certified. There are some die chips around In God We Trust.

By the way, it is a 1878-CC VAM-9, and some of the pictures I saw for the VAM-9 have worn dies on both legs, but it is different than the one I have here. Here's a link to 1878-CC VAM-9 if it's helpful: http://www.vamworld.com/1878-CC+VAM-9

Thanks!
It seems to be a struck through to me, but the polishing in that area is throwing me off, there is polishing on the missing leg as well. It could just be the leg being polishing off?
Some of the 1878-CC VAM-9s have been struck on worn dies seen on the pictures from the link, but mine doesn't look anywhere near like it.
I'm thinking if I should send it in as mint error or not...

Very strong strike. I believe its more from both worn dies and polishing. I'm torn between MS63 and 64. I going with 64. Love the second set of pics you took. Really Nice job. Haven't figured out yet how to get the luster to show like yours

Thanks. I was actually using the sun light through the window as light source to get the picture.

Interesting coin. I lean towards a minor strikethrough, as die polishing won't reach the affected area and a strike that weak would show in places like the talons, breast and neck far earlier than in the wings. Note the almost-full strike of the large bottom leaves on the wreath; that's one of the first things to go. That's not where die wear will show first, either.

I guess it'll have to be a strike through then. I just went back to the VAM-9 pictures that have worn legs, the bottom leaves were worn down as well.
I've already eliminated it being a weak strike since it looks full for the most part. The thing that was throwing me off is the "polishing lines(?)" on the missing leg, maybe it's just the marks from the strike thru.
Thanks a lot though.

I think the "polishing lines" are incidental postmint contact; no way actual die polishing ever reaches inside a device.
