Short story: At the bank today, glanced at the tellers tray (like I always do.) Bingo! so I thought. This is what it ended up being. Got me curious though! Thoughts? Is it an error...er anything special? I don't collect dimes unless they are silver so I literally have no knowledge other than it's worth 10 cents.

Weight = 2.30g

Coin in question is on the left and side by side with a normal '83 dime. It looked silver

What they've done to the modelling of the relief, & the lettering, is a crying shame.

Looks as if it was painted or plated to me.

It looks painted and dull.

Looks like paint but that is surely not its original surface.

Painted. Well done pros. It turned out to be a powdery silver coating. Lightly rubbed the edges with some airbrush thinner and came off. Nothing exciting... Thanks for the replies.
