So I just started coin roll hunting (pennies), and got my first box yesterday. The going is slow, and I know I'm (most likely) not going to find anything great my first time. Sometimes people have beginners luck. When you guys first started hunting, what's the quickest find you've ever made? (As in find I mean like an IHC, a WAM, double-die, key-date wheat, or anything of that sort). So how long into the hunting process did it take you to make your first big find? And what was it?

I'm not a roll hunter, but when I first started collecting, I ended up buying a sealed "bank bag" of 5,000 Lincoln cents. They took a while to go though. I found 2 1900's IHC, and maybe 25 or so LWC. I looked at each coin and found some die chip coins, but nothing of any major interest... I think I'll stick to my type collecting, and my favorite, Civil War tokens...

Found a G+ 1909 after something like 50 rolls. Came across a AU 1943D steel cent after 400 rolls, and a blank planchet after 600 rolls.

I've gone through 30 rolls and I've found 10ish wheats and an AU 62d... that's the best I've gotten and I'm loving it!

It took me about 15 boxes to find a 1999 Wide AM.... and then I found another one like 3 boxes later.... I also have found a 1909VDB penny(not an s though) and a blank planchet type 1 also a 1992d Close AM..... Now I have searched over 250,000 pennies to find all that and I have been pretty lucky to find those in that many pennies searched..... The key is to search A LOT of pennies and the odds will work out to finding what you are searching for eventually.... In fact using if the odds of finding a specific penny are say 1 in a million that means that if you search 1,000,001 pennies then your percentage of finding that pennies becomes 100%.... CRH is kinda like gambling without the risk of losing.... you calculate the odds for the penny you are searching for then you search that many pennies to find it(and in most cases far less).... Of course I am a big math nerd so I enjoy running the numbers just as much as I enjoy the actual roll hunting. :)

Very quickly into coin roll hunting I hit 2 solid rolls of silver quarters. It was probably 2-3 weeks into CRH at most.
