Going through a horde of LWC I have been sitting on...waiting to go through them when I had no rolls to search. Looking through the stack of 1941P and a find a gem. Found a 1941P-1DO-002 from Coppercoins site. Mine has been well circulated but the markers are there for MDS. I will take pictures on Monday and get them posted. Just do not feel like setting up the camera tonight. I have a pile of LWC on my desk sorted by dates and it took to long to get them organized to search. LOL! OK...Just had to let the community know. It is my first real nice DO I have found. OK...on to the next coin. I will post a pic from CC site of what it is.

Thanks Coop. I'm hoping it will at least grade around F. I'm a terrible grader but since I have no desire to sell my finds...it is a hole filler for me. Just nice to find a nice DO even if it has been well circulated. I find plenty of the zinc (mainly 2000+) DDR but not to many DO. I will work at getting pics up tomorrow.

Here are a few quick pics of the coin. For some reason the pics of GOD and WE did not turn out. I will retake some after the camera battery charges. I will also take a pic of the full coin. I think my head was just not in it with the heat. LOL! Here is the date: Close-up of "RUS" of TRUST. You can see it in the R and U. Sorry for the fuzzy pic. Same for the "N" of IN. Again...bit of a fuzzy pic. Sigh.

Great find, it pays to have a stand-by stash for slow times.

Erns...have a look here to answer your question. http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...PIC_ID=27977Top left of this website is a box titled "Search Coin Community". If you enter MDS in the box and click GO it will search the entire site for any postings with the entered search criteria. Give it a try. It is a very useful function and a lot can be learned using it. Thank you for the replies.

Cladhunter13: Thank you for the answer, I had no idea you could search the entire site like that. Definitely something useful.

That's a great find out there Cladhunter13. 1941 is a date most people won't get much attention or thought to especially the "P" mint coins. This is a perfect example of why you should LOOK CLOSELY. In my opinion picture the government benches in the British House of Commons. Imagine all the Lincoln varieties sitting there as "members" and the closer you are to the front bench the more noticeable you are the more important and the more press you get. Obviously the cabinet members sit on the front bench and the prime minister would be the 1955 DDO. 1970 Small Date, 1972 DDO, 1917 DDO are front benchers. Now 1941 DDO I would not think of as a front bench variety but in my mind it is on that second bench right behind the cabinet members.

I always check each US cent I get. There are sooo many different varieties and errors out there...you never know what you will find. I get a lot of US coinage considering I live in a border town. It has allowed me the chance to find several different nice varieties and errors along my coin collecting journey. I have found all 3 WAMs (still looking for the CAMs) which I'm very happy about. I have also found several nice varieties and errors. Nothing to make me rich but I rarely sell a coin anyhow so value is not a motivation for me. That is one of the reasons I have not stepped into the hoarding silver rage. Its all about the hunt. Unfortunately...here in Canada...we no longer have the cent in general circulation. Most banks will not give them out. I do have one that still sells them to me. It saves them from having to send them out to be recycled. I will have to start crossing the river to get cents in the near future. Sigh. I still need to find the whole "front bench" as you put it. :) There are others that I would love to acquire as well. The 1988...errrrrummm...RV6 or whatever it is. I know what to look for but the name has slipped my mind. LOL! I also weigh out my 1983 cents looking for a copper 83. That would be a find of a lifetime. For Canadian cents...there are still quite a few I would love to get. I have been honored with finding a 1955 NSF in about F12. It is a rare find for sure and I can live with the condition it is in. Finding a $180 coin for $.01 is always a good find. I have had several offers on it already but it will not be leaving my collection. Well...I need to quit rambling on and get to bed. LOL! Have a good night and happy hunting.

Quote: I will have to start crossing the river to get cents I live 13 miles from the nearest bank and often drive into the next county, even the next state. I once traveled over 100 miles on a cent gathering weekend. It adds new meaning to "the hunt". I brought back 4 boxes and 130 loose rolls. I went through the rolls and the boxes became my stand by stash. I'm down to one box,I guess it's time for another road trip.

Well...I managed one box from my local bank connection and then I hit up a fellow roll hunter who still had 12 boxes left in his stash for 2 of his. He graciously sold me 2. So now I have 3 boxes and I can not wait to tear into them. :)
