It is worth about 50% more than the closed 2 type in the lower grades.
Incidently the obverse die on the 1842 farthing is the same open 2 rarer but all catalogues are aware of this clear variety.

VF/GVF UK so NGC may give you XF40.
If TPG is your thing go with it but I have seen so many wrong calls by US TPG's on British coins.
At Predecimal we have a thread on a small date 1862 1d...it is the normal type. Also a claimed 1860 mule farthing.NOT.
Messages have been sent to the auctioneers.
If a auction house gets slabbed coins I suppose they don't look at them too hard.
Hopefully they will pull them and the vendor can recover their losses from the TPGS

Thank's PETER.I know that certification companies (pcgs, ngc, anacs, icg) make mistakes! However for a future sale on ebay best currency to be in SLAB!

THANK'S AGAIN

If you put it into one of the major UK auctions it would sail without a slab.
Most likely will be busted out of the slab.

I really would like to see pictures at least as sharp as the Baldwin example.
