I did not see the announcement in the forum so I thought I should post this notice. I actually did not know he had designed the 1967 centennial issue coinage. He leaves a wonderful legacy of his work.

I heard it on CBC radio this morning. Very sad. I wrote something on it already:

He was chancellor at Acadia University when I graduated. I lived in Wolfville, Nova Scotia for a time as well and would often see him and his wife out walking their dog or just out and about around town.

I have always enjoyed his paintings and particularly like his designs on the 1967 coinage.

I just wrote up a little detail on the Canadian small cents for a graphic I am having made and researched him. Literally I did this yesterday and learned about his contribution to the Canadian cent.

We will always remember him in his wonderful works which adorn many of our greatest museums across this great country..

An extraordinary pointillist artist with an amazing eye for perspective ...and vanishing points...

Just went to the MMFA... where some of his works are always on display...

I was on vacation and drove through Wolfville the day after he died...
