I have heard that national bank notes from Ohio are looked down upon by currency collectors and dealers. Why is that? Are they all common notes or does the large number of Ohio banks that issued notes just drive down the prices?

Thanks,

I wouldn't look down on any national. Perhaps they are more common. but give me one anytime. I'm sure there is a dedicated cabal of Ohio national collectors.

I buy any nationals as long as they're decently priced. I don't know what's wrong with the Ohio ones, but there must've been a high mintage or something involved. Sometimes the sheets were saved and they cut them up years later and dumped them on the market - really causes a lot more to get into existence and for the vaue to lower.

Ohio notes are not looked down upon. They just aren't in high demand right now. There is a huge supply and very little demand.
