Hi Dean - this looks like the variety with the 'ccc' closely spaced.

I'd probably grade this as NF / VG - the legends are lovely and crisp but the shields on the reverse are quite worn. I think these were always quite weakly struck. Any early Gothic florin of a relatively common date seems to sell for between £15 and £20 nowadays in this condition. This one certainly has more eye appeal than most! Nice one!

Agree with the grading but it would be about £10 max on ebay.
I was so bored with listing these bu**ers and facing postage etc I just put about 20 of these to sell as scrap.

The Gothic Florin saw LOTS of circulation, and that explains why EF or Unc. examples of any date are so scarce, and priced accordingly. I have kept all of my low grade Gothic Florins.
The nearest denomination, the half crown, was not issued 1853 to 1874, during the time the Gothic Florin was issued.

If you wish to let some of the poorer ones go, selling them in a job lot makes some sense to me!
