I followed this story on and off. When the SBSS rounds came out I was impressed with the designs and detail in the rounds, BUT the premuim they were commanding was a bit steep for a new start up. So I never bought into them. Glad I didn't. I collect silver for the sake of silver, low premiums is what I look for. Just my 2 cents.
Actually anyone who was able to get some of the last ones from the MM/Rob Gray might do very well as value goes, if he goes under then there most likely wont be alot of them out there and the value will go up, but for those who are waiting for an order from them may get stung. I wonder if anyone did get that proof 5 oz in the box , not real sure on the dates it was to be released etc.
I know all this MM stuff is at peak popularity right now, but I still believe it'll ultimately end up in the generic silver tub under the front counter in my LCS for a couple bucks over spot. It'll take a few years to get there, but I'm patient. I'll wait.
Quote: A quick note to our valued friends and customers: All Silver Bullet Silver Shield sales are suspended indefinitely. We thank you for your patronage over the last ten months, and though we're excited to put this project behind us, stay tuned for an important announcement and a few quick notes on where we're going from here! All currently outstanding orders will be fulfilled. The suspension of sales will not affect any orders that have been placed prior to shutting down.

Maybe so time will tell , but I think the proofs will fair much better then the regular bullion ones.
I just wasted 20 minutes of my life following the links, reading the articles, watching the video. What a pathetic and unprofessional train wreck. I get that some people have been wronged and appear to have legitimate grievances. However, all of the public finger pointing leaves me with little confidence or desire to give my business to anyone involved.
North---You're right. I doubt I'll see the proofs in the tub, but... I found a 1986 proof Libertad (in original capsule and box) in the tub ($2 over spot) a couple months ago, so who knows? What I'll likely find in the tub in 3-4 years will be some badly dented, scratched bullion rounds.
CW---You're right, too. Unfortunately, since Duane just got his second wind with his new reincarnation, we're going to have his ongoing soap opera in our faces for who knows how long now.
Short version: a good idea gone bad--including damaged products, inordinate shipping delays, irate customers, alleged larceny, bitterness and recriminations galore, serial accusatory rants on Youtube, etc ad infinitum...
Quote "The website below is actually operated exclusively by the Mulligan Mint - not in partnership or with authorization of Chris Duane. The "Enemy Unknown" round is therefore not actually an authorized SBSS product. We will not be carrying this product, nor any other products released by the Mulligan Mint, or any future products claiming to be part of the SBSS series.
Chris Duane is now releasing his designs through a new ISO certified mint, under the Silver Shield series. We will be carrying these products going forward. Currently these are shown under the SBSS page on our website, but this will eventually be updated to Silver Shield.
