You can bet that because of what they are and what they will bring what ever grading service they use won't even consider down grading them since they have been moved around for 300 years by the forces of nature. Being able to buy sunken treasure, they may only collect by check book and the standards of the items community may not matter to the parties. As having one or more of the sunken treasure is more important.

NGC grades coins like this all the time, they have a grade called "shipwreck effect" many of the SS Republic and SS Central coins are slabbed this way.

There are varying degrees of "Shipwreck Damage" assigned then if merited a numerical grade will also be placed, in not then a standard named grade will then be used ie; VF, XF, AU, MS. Quite common really and they have been doing this for at least a decade.
