I feel very lucky to have won this 1707 Queen Anne crown on ebay yesterday. Really didn't expect to win; maybe there just weren't many bidders because of the Memorial Day holiday.

Any opinions on the grade by British standards?

Thanks, ichirensha and NumisMattyUk! I think it is a solid VF, almost but not quite gVF. 385 quid.
(A lot of money to spend on a coin, seems crazy, but no regrets.)

Hey if you've got the dosh go for it!

Myself I can't afford any higher than the dozen quid I forked out for the Nelson Mandela millennium coin. Naturally, my CFS doesn't help - tho' if I ever "make it big" in my writing I fancy having a pop at a few of the more special and rare coins..

May I ask how much 385 quid is in U.S. dollars?

I would love to have a coin like that, but will have to wait to find out how much it cost in terms of our money.

Hi Gary,

I use the "Quick Currency Converter" tool at http://www.xe.com to convert currency:

385.00 GBP = 766.715 USD
(United Kingdom Pounds) (United States Dollars)

Which is why I said, "A lot of money to spend on a coin." Finding a nice Queen Anne crown at an affordable price takes some searching as well. The 1707 "after Union with Scotland" variety is more common and somewhat less expensive.
