I don't know Canadian law but I can't see any grounds for denying the bequest. I think the sister is fighting it for one of two reasons (or a combination of the two). She want the money for herself, or just doesn't want the group to have it because she doesn't agree with their viewpoint.

Maybe they should only get the "Aryran" coins in the collection?

This is a bit of an odd one. These guys arent allowed to receive this stuff because of their political views? I thought America did this before (Senator McCarthy or something). Its the land of the free and they are using that freedom to believe in their political beliefs. I personally dont care what those beliefs are - they should be getting the money.

Anyway, I doubt they'd keep the coins. It would represent a big load of top dollar coins coming onto the market. I doubt any coin collectors would mind that. And the coins would have some interesting provenance.

Remember the collector is Canadian and it is the Canadian courts that are tying it up. Under US law there would be no question they would be entitled to the collection. But there might be reasons under Canadian law, I don't know. So far all I can see is that initially they blocked it "might not have promoted what is the best interest of society as a whole,". Of course this is dangerous because often what a government thinks is in the best interest of society as a whole is for all money to come to the government so THEY can take care of society. Now that the sister has made a claim they have backed off and it is now a matter of her making her case in court. Of couse she has made her claim on public policy grounds which on one hand strike me as shaky, and on the other "being a matter of PUBLIC POLICY" would seem to me to hand it right back to the government if she wins her injunction.
