Nopers, nice try. Here is one speared variety. I've found 3.
1 in the back, 1 in the rear (like this) and 1 spearpoint by front legs.

Alright thanks very much! I had 50% guess it was PMD and 50% it was an error.

I can toss it now. :)

Looks like a bag mark from another coin.

The image of Joe's looks like a die crack. The speared buffalo I think was die scratches as I recall. Another 'cutsie' name to get people to by non collectable coins for a premium. IMOHO

Buy the true varieties.

It will be hard to miss one if I come across them again. I wasn't sure if the spear could be anywhere so that's why I posted to see what you guys have to say.

@Oih, great picture, thanks!

@coop, I guess mine is a bag mark. Because the roll I have opened was full on 2005 - P's Buffalo's. I'm guessing it was sealed up since 2005? Both ends of the nickels turned yellow. ( ones left open to the air)

Since about 2001 forward the coins are dropped into a bin, then shipped to the coin wrappers sites to be rolled. We still use the term bag mark to identify marks that before 2000 when they were shipped in bags and handled roughly that left marks from one coin to another when dropped. I think I still have a couple rolls of the Denver ones. I saved several rolls back then and sold most of them.
