I'm currently roll hunting nickels and I figure I might as well try to put together a set of pre-60, but I want to make sure I'm including every date and mint in my spreadsheet. It seems there are some years where some mints didn't make nickles is this correct? Is there a comprehensive list somewhere? Thanks in advance...

Maybe consider buying a Red Book for reference also.

That numismedia link is very comprehensive and thorough, thanks. All the pricing I can find online for pre 60 Jefferson nickels seems really high. There's no way the average 1940 nickle is worth like 20 cents, right? I pull those things out of rolls constantly.

The demand for circulated nickels are not very high..... hence lower price.

Love the Jeffs. Trying to complete a full BU/Proof all set. Lacking proofs 38, 39, 40, 97-P. Have another mixed full set and three sets in progress. My collecting them back to 1961.
