There is a rare 1920 UK George V penny with the colon under imp. It also has other identifying features that separate it from the normal version. I know it exists because I have one, and although I have read Gouby and Groom say it is extremely rare I cannot find a value for the penny. Does anyone have any idea of the value?
Isn't the colon after IMP which points to a tooth.Freeman 189? Try some of the historic auction results, google etc Failing that ask the question on Predecimal.com where there are loads of 1d experts.
Yes that's what I mean, it is after the IMP and the colon points to a tooth. My mistake. I have looked at many auctions online and not seen any for this penny. Maybe the next editions, of Spink et al may have a value
I may be thinking of another coin but I thought the only known example of this coin was in a museum. If that's the case I doubt there'd be any previous sale price to establish value.
