Are there any known errors for the 1944 LWC? I acquired one that seems to have extra metal as well as missing metal on the front and back rim of the coin. the 'uneven-ness' of the rim carries into the appearance of the edge of the coin even though it still feels smooth. Lincoln also appears to have extra metal on his shoulder, and the LI in Liberty are gone.

Man.. It's hard to get good, realistic photos

I also *tried* to take some photos of the edge if anyone is interested in seeing them.

Your coin has been abused and damaged, PMD. By their very nature, errors can randomly occur on any denomination in any given year so there is no "master list" like there is with die varieties.

so.. you say damage versus an error? I wasn't sure what to think with the extra metal like under the points of the wheat on the backside. That's one of the more prominent in the photo, but other spots display the same 'extra' material as well. I am by no means an expert or anything close to it, just my thoughts

An error is created in the minting process. This couldn't happen at the mint. Garage damaged. PSD
