For those who invest in silver or coin roll hunt: Here is my latest monster half dollar box. One heck of a score for just one box! My best haul yet.

This is certainly better than any box of half dollars that I have ever had. My best was 8 40%.
Great finds!

Good box, but certainly not a monster. Do more and you will undoubtedly have better.

Take it from "Mister 85 Consecutive Skunk Boxes" himself... That was a dream box.

That's not even a roll of silver. Monster box? C'mon, not a dream box, not a monster box, not anything. It's a good box, but to reduce the barriers of greatness... is folly. Congrats on a great box, but if you want the label of a monster or a dream box, you best be finding 50+ keepers (monster) or 100+ (dream). Just my humble opinion.

FTB---Having experienced 85 consecutive skunk boxes, my perspective on what constitutes a monster box or dream box differs somewhat from yours. At this
point, if I found one silver half in a box it'd be a new all-time high for me. Just out of curiosity -- how many times have you found 50 or 100 silver halves in a box?

Four over 100, and more than a dozen between 50 and 100.

If you've got 85 straight skunks, I'm sorry, that is just unbelievable and you need to reevaluate your strategy. I pulled 20 keepers out of my first box today, and my third box gave up 15... and I have another box I bet will beat both of them.

My strategy has already been reevaluated and the revised strategy is already in place -- Namely, I'm done hunting halves because the pool of circulating
halves in my area has obviously long since been sucked dry of silver.

Pulling 35 silver halves out of two boxes in my area is nothing less than a full-blown fantasy that hasn't happened around here for probably many years. The
productivity level numbers you cite are fantastic. If I could knock down numbers like that I'd be turning over a couple dozen boxes every week, my calendar
would revolve around my half-hunting activity and I'd be paying for the bullion that I stack with the rolls of halves that I'd be piling up every week.

You evidently live in an ideal area for hunting halves and I do envy you that!

Silver doesn't get sucked dry, your problem is you aren't creating enough churn to get the fresh coin coming in on a regular basis. If I were you, just as a short-term trial, I would ramp things up to 50 boxes a week for a month. Watch, you'll start pulling in silver. For a while last year, I was doing 40 boxes a week and going through my own rejects, and still pulling plenty of silver. The supply of silver in circulation is not finite, it is practically infinite... recycled. The other thing to remember is that this hobby is cyclical. It can be really hot ($100 face in silver in a single day of searching, yes I've done this) or really cold (Your 85 box streak). I live in an area with several big searchers, I'd guess churn is probably around 150 boxes a week. You just need to get the coin moving and the silver will filter its way in... plinking away with 5-10 boxes a week and 50 in a courier coverage area isn't going to get you jack. I won't delve too far into it, but if you do your homework properly, and do a good bit of research, you can produce some very good results.

I really wish I had the money to do the volume you are talking about.
I would have to make like 25 trips to make this work.

Fade, how much driving do you do to get to all of your banks?
