I was cleaning out some of my things and ran across this bank note I had gotten awhile back after my grandpa passed away. The writing on it looks to be Asian, but I really have no idea what it is, if its rare, or what its current approximate value is. It looks old...and I know my grandpa served in the military at some point during his life.

Any info anyone can give me on it would be very much appreciated!

The chrysanthemum (centre top) and mt. Fugi on the obverse lead the way to a note from Japan.

It's a 50 sen from 1938. It's very common so no real value I'm afraid- but a nice interesting thing to have.
