1926 Near Or Far 6?

Methinks it's a near.

Was it supposed to be a far? If you bought it on ebay, it shouldn't be difficult

It was on ebay. There was no picture of the coin, it was a near complete set (picture of a binder filled with Nickels)and clearly stated that it included the 1926 Far 6. When I contacted the seller, they were adamant that I was wrong and that the coin pictured is a far 6. Either way, I have worked it out with the seller (it wasn't a pleasant experience) and will be returning the set for a refund.

Make sure you send it back with tracking. Did you file an item not as described and do the proper route through ebay? You need their permission to send it back for full refund.

To everyone, I apologise in advance for the long post/rant, but this is what I have had the pleasure of dealing with tonight. My ebay messages to and from said seller. You might want to get some popcorn, and a comfortable seat.

The 1926 was the near variety as opposed to the far variety that was supposed to be included as per your listing. As you see I have attached the picture of the coin and it is in fact as advertised. No mistake has occurred. I have never owned a near 1926. Nor is this coin. I have no problem refunding the purchase price as stated in listing. Original shipping is not refundable unless you know how to get it back for me also as per listing.

Please provide tracking number and we will contact you after item is inspected.

It is quite hard to see from the picture that you provided.....but I can assure you that the coin that you sent me is a near six (I have included a clear picture of the coin in question). I would expect to pay for shipping if I simply wasn't happy with the set, but this is not the set that was advertised. As such, since the mistake was on your part, I expect that you will incur the cost (not me) associated with your mistake.

No. I do not refund original shipping. This is not window shopping. Please do a search on near and far 6 nickels and you will see there is no error.

There is no reason to be rude. I understand that this is not window shopping, and in the years of using ebay this is the first item that I have considered returning. I have done a search on near and far varieties and I suggest that you do the same before sending remarks like this. I have included a picture and explaination of both varieties for you to review. If after seeing this you refuse to refund all of the shipping costs (both original and return), as well as the full purchase price, I will be opening a case with ebay and will let them decide how to handle this.

The worst part is I have purchased every one of my 1926 nickels on ebay and can further substantiate my claims. I can crop my photos as needed. Why would I not include the other nickel in this massive coin set I was if I had it? This is not making a lot of sense to me. Please return item and I will inspect and refund as needed. I would expect the tracking number as well. I sold this exact book in a less quality book for $375 and I want my coins returned. You can have the shipping costs when item is safely returned.

I can appreciate that you are upset. I am quite upset as well, as I sold of a bunch of George VI and early Elizabeth II quarters from my own collection to fund this purchase. I have eagerly been checking the mailbox daily in hopes that the set had arrived (so window shopping never crossed my mind, and I'm insulted that you suggested otherwise). To blame me and be rude, is not the way to handle this situation. What do I have to gain from returning the set. As of now, I'm out my coins and didn't get the coins that I was expecting. And until you have your coins back, I'm out the money as well. I am really hoping that we can resolve this quickly, and maybe we will both learn from the experience. I have.....I know that in the future, to ask for clear pictures of the key dates before I place a bid or take the risk of not getting what I paid for.

I didn't receive the message that you said that you would refund the shipping until after I responded to the one stating that you would not refund shipping. I have been on the phone with ebay for the last 45 minutes trying to get a return shipping label from them, so that you wouldn't have to incur the extra cost. Unfortunately the only way for that to happen would be for me to open a case against you. I told them that I would rather work it out with you than file a claim.

Sorry maybe there was some kind of confusion as this return costs me nothing. The Buyer has the responsibility to return item at their own expense. I was disputing your ORIGINAL Shipping charge when the item was purchased, this part is on you. I currently have two cases open for items I purchased and there is NO option for me to print a return shipping label. In fact I personally shipped them back last night at my own expense. These are legal contracts and there are rules that must be followed. I hope they gave you a reference number for that phone call because they have miss lead you and you should make a complaint.

This is getting out of line. This is a high end coin item an I expect it to be re shipped in exactly the same manner as received. In ALL Original shipping materials in a bubble mailer or better and with the tracking provided. I would suggest at this point that you stop threatening me with paypal as I am willing to take you on. However the outcome is a much LONGER process which seems to be the real issue. But the outcome is the same. You return item in the exact condition at your own expense. I was never agreeing to pay this cost and I WILL NOT BE. Nice scam. Make a purchase and some how increase the original purchase by $10. This is crazyness. After doing a little bit of research on you I am disgusted. You are entitled to what the original contract entitled you to and that's all. You are some kind of scam. You offer a no return policy I see. ebay may see your actions as that of a competitor(however small)frowned upon. Sorry you need the cash so desperately and jealously is clearly eating you alive. You have 12 days left to return my coins. Hope you get the cash to get the shipping label and packaging materials.

Yes it does suck. But it is what it is. I have already talked Sith ebay and they said that she is on the hook for the return shipping as well......because she stated in writing that she would. It doesn't matter that she changed her mind after she agreed to. She's not going to be happy once she finds this out.......

I was trying to avoid naming any names (just to keep things profrssional), but the messages that I received clearly were anything but polite and/or professional. I would also hate for anybody in this community to have the same type of experience that I have had with this seller. Soooooo......the seller's handle is coingeekcanada. I would suggest to all that you stay away from her.

I'm starting to think that there may have been a far 6 but it was replaced with a near 6 because the auction sold for so little.
