My latest coin finally got to me. Got this one at the last Triskeles auction. It took a pretty grand tour of the states as well. Starting in Georgia it went to Atlanta first then all the way out to Miami before making its way up North to sit in customs for a little while longer before finally getting here.

I would make a joke about border patrol but that would be in bad taste.

Anyways here is what you are still reading for:

Trajan. A.D. 98-117. BI tetradrachm Mint: Alexandria,
year 19 (A.D. 116/7).
Obverse:AVT TΡAIAN AΡI CEB Î"EΡM Î"AKIK, laureate head right, star before
Reverse: Dikaiosyne standing left, holding scales and cornucopiae; across field, L I-Θ.
Köln 684; Milne 740; Emmett 372

Very nice coin. I really like these billon tets and wish I had more of them. Why does it take so long from the US to Canada when it doesn't take as long to Europe?

It may have no been too long with the long weekend in Canada. It took about 2 and a half weeks. Maybe I was just impatient because I just really wanted the coin.

I like billon tetradrachms of Alexandria as well. It's a cheap(er) way of acquiring larger ancient silver coins.

Very nice! Trajan has so many interesting coins. Half the time when I see a Roman which catches my eye, it's a Trajan.

Thanks for the kind words. My girlfriend thought I was nuts because I kept going to look at the coin last night. Trajan has long been one of my favourite emperors. I was very excited to win this coin I even put it at a max bid that was out of my comfort zone. Luckily it went at the first bid so it saved me some money!

I am also now a fan of Triskeles auctions the buyers fee isn't too much and the shipping is very reasonable plus they have coins for all budgets. But don't go bidding on my coins!
