A close look at the right side of the obverse of this 1851 8 Esc shows a section of the reverse design, including part of an arm, and the reversed "LEY : 210" section of the reverse legend.

It is the first Die Clash error I have seen on a gold coin.

Nice find.

Not too many heavy clashes in that series. They usually lapped the dies to remove those traces.

I would be interested to know what you were able to purchase the coin for, if you are comfortable with giving out that info.
