Ran across these in the estate collection and am not familiar at all. What's their story? Any value? As you can see, the St. Charles note is in really good shape, the Memphis is not..

Here is an idea of value http://www.uscurrencyauctions.com/$10notes.htm The one with writing on it and the rusty staple mark most likely has no collector value.

Well, things got pretty busy with me and working on this estate.. It has been decided that disposition of the old currency belonging to the estate should be done by auction format, so I've been considering ebay since I don't know of any other places to sell off old currency. Any suggestions? Some of the stuff I need to sell of are:

2) 1957 $1 Silver Certificates, uncirculated, consecutive serials

A 1929 $10 National Note, First National Bank of St. Charles, MO
1929 $5 National Note, Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, MO
1929 $50 National Note, Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, MO
1929 $50 National Note, Farmers National Bank of Salina, KS
1929 $50 National Note, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, IL
1929 $10 National Note, Boatmen's National Bank of St. Louis, MO
1929 $20 National Note, Commercial National Bank of Kansas City, KS
1929 $100 National Note, Crocker First National Bank of San Francisco, CA
1929 $5 National Note, First National Bank of Waurika, OK
1929 $10 National Note, First National Bank of St. Louis, MO
1929 $10 National Note, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, MO
1929 $20 National Note, First National Bank of Anadarko, OK
1929 $20 National Note, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, TX
1929 $20 National Note, Bank of America National Trust and Savings Assn. San Francisco, CA

1928 $100 Gold Certificate, circulated, but good

Some of the National Currency are clear and bright, others have been well-circulated.

Open to suggestions..?

You have two different types of notes: National Bank notes and Federal Reserve Bank notes.

Saint Charles- Type 2 $300

Salina, KS about $200

St. Louis, Boatmen's is a common note, $20-45

Kansas City, KS $50

San Francisco, Crocker $200 to $300

Waurika, OK $750 (what Kelly's book lists as its value)

St. Louis, First National a common note $20 to 40

Anadarko, OK $350 (what Kelly's book lists as its value)

Bank of America...., San Francisco common note $30-50

Memphis, TX one sold for $201.25 (Heritage Auction in 2010) Kelly lists value as $350

These are Federal Reserve Bank Notes (Note the title area and the 4 bold letters signifying the Federal Reserve Bank that issued it)

$5 Kansas City $30 to $40 (one sold on Heritage for $43 in 2013)

$50 Kansas City $74 to $110

$50 Chicago $86 to $100

$10 St. Louis $30 to $48

$20 Dallas $40 to $84

1928 $100 Gold certificate $125+

1957 $1 Silver Certificates, for the pair $3 to $5

A note about my values is that they are derived from Don C. Kelly's 6th edition book titled "National Bank Notes", Heritage Auctions archives, and in the case of a couple of the notes a reasonable guess as to what they would likely bring.

Without pictures of most of the notes, my estimations don't take into account low serial numbers or other things that might enhance the values.

Also, writing, stains, missing corners, rust, pinholes, etc. do lessen the value.

I didn't want to overwhelm you with one long post so I broke this into 3 posts.

I'm not sure.

If you were to get your post count up on here, you'd be able to offer them for sale on here.

Went ahead and listed the $5 Warika,OK on ebay just to see how it goes. Not in the best shape, full of pinholes. I think the fact that I put an old $20 with it is the only reason it's bid at $25!

That old $20 you included with it is a Federal Reserve note that was redeemable in gold.

Any Series 1928 or 1928 with a prefix (A,B,C,D) were redeemable in gold so they are worth a little more than 1934 and later series that lacked the "gold clause".
