looking to switch out my OFEC collection from 2x2 flips to something clear, such as Saflips, but would prefer a single pocket.

I've seen Lighthouse brand single pockets
http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/lig...-of-100.html
and although they are not mylar they do describe them as "made of crystal clear, unplasticized vinyl. They are free of acids or chemical softeners"

just wondering if they are safe for long term storage?

also seeing some other `brands such as "transline" & "supersafe" that claim to be archival safe (still dual pocket but half the cost of Saflips)

thoughts and opinions?

Cardboard / Mylar flips is what I only use, because you can write any comments on the cardboard including the price and date bought, and if needed, attribution.

They go into archival quality polypropylene album pages in country order for modern coins, or date order for ancients. Hammered and milled coins 800 A.D to 1800 A.D are a bit more tricky to arrange in albums.

I agree with Sel.
2x2 cardboard and Mylar flips are what I use.
I have tried the saflips but the coins tend to move around in them and I just HATE it when the coin isn't orientated correctly in my albums.
I also like to write on my flips and if you do this with the saflips by adding a cardboard slip in the other pocket you hide the other side of the coin in the album.
The saflips are fantastic as far as being archival quality storage but aesthetically they just don't quite cut the mustard IMHO
