Its an odd finish... seems very durable to just be marker or something similar.

I have had fun with different Pentel pens.
'Toning' can look more authentic with one color only.
If you don't like it, an acetone bath will help.

Personally, I like it as is. In Victorian England, enamelled coins were popular, and the best ones can bring decent prices at auction these days.

Yea, I bet that one was easy to spot in the pile. Could it be anodized? I guess the acetone would tell.

Yeah, haven't done it yet. I did have some reservations about altering it. If I did, I was going to do an area hopefully least visable. Still undecided.
