Where ever its cheaper id probably do. Buying at the show would only really give the advantage of picking the one you want and having it right away. Theres a value to that but if theres a large markup Id take my chances with the mint.

w/ basebal21. Being able to see & choose the actual coin you want, in my opinion, justifies a small mark-up in price...

mackwork - the question was asked about buying these in Chicago during the ANA show. They had them available yesterday and sold out - which was my response. If you go look on ebay you find there is supply of these now available for purchase - some even signed by the current director of the mint.

Does anyone know what the price was at the show? I would like to know what kind of interest there was. If it was $1640 easy to see why they sold out. If it was over $1700 then people are willing to pay for this one. Just about 27000 sold with 3 weeks to go.

tpg22 - I heard they were being sold for the $1640 price - with a limit of 5 to a buyer. The mint brought 1000 of them to the show, and they were being sold 2nd hand on the spot for $50 to $100 over purchase price. I can barely afford the 1/10th coin so this one is out of my league.

Thanks for the quick reply Doug. I guess that explains why my order on the first day of issue is on back order until 9/8. Had to sell these and fill all the big house orders.

HOLY COW!!!!!!!! dang the US Mint has winner on their hands with this Buff.
oh well, guess i;ll be waiting then for mine lol
now that I think of it tho, shoot, if one has the ability to do so, you would want to buy as many of these as you can and either
a- flip them
b- sit on them and sell them down the road.
I mean, in my opinion, this would be the type of coin you buy as an investment.
