I just assembled a set of the Vancouver Olympic 25-cent pieces(got the Loonies too, in case anyone is curious), and have a question. The release date for the Cross-Country Skiing and Speed Skating coins came in early 2009, and both were released before the Bobsleigh coin was released (from everything I can find online). BUT, the Bobsleigh coin has a 2008 date on it, whereas the other two pieces (released prior to the Bobsleigh) carry a 2009 date. Anyone know what's going on here?

I guess I'll label them based on date on the coin but sort them in the order they were released.

There are also colourized versions of all 15 quarters. The 3 Favourite Moments have a full red maple leaf, the other 12 have an red outline on the maple leaf.

I always wondered what Cindy Klassen thinks whenever she gets one of those quarters in her change.
And spending them? Does she slide them across the counter, and then casually point and say "That's me"?

Does the queen use money, like, actual bills and coins? Or if she has to write a cheque, she just pulls out a note or some coins and says, "See, that's me."

Wait...there are colorized non-moment coins too? Crap! Anyone have info on where I can get some of these? Just checked ebay but found nothing.

I think they were special issued in individual cards by Petro-Canada or something like that.

I thought Prince Philip always followed her around. Is that his function then, to carry her purse?

Petro Canada issued their own concurrent set of coloured Olympic quarters in a cellophane wrapped package. They are out there but are fairly hide to find so it takes patience to get them all. I know the pix aren't the greatest skyshark124 but it gives you an idea what to look for.

Hmm...well, I mainly focus on official mint productions, so I may not be as eager to get these, though they do look cool. AND, I kind of need a new objective in the "collect colorized Canadian stuff" market, so maybe I will look for these after all.

Also, if the Queen did go somewhere and buy something with a check or credit card, when they ask for identification, she could just pull a coin out and give it over and say "Here's my ID." Come to think of it, I should have coins made of my likeness so I can do this too.
