Maybe if the BEP did not have to print so many one dollar notes, they could better concentrate on quality control for the one hundred dollar note. Just saying.

Just saying. AND, maybe if the BEP would print $200 notes and print $500, and possibly $1,000 notes again, they would not have to print as many $100 notes to meet the demand for high denomination U.S. FRNs, and thus, less chances of messing up more $100 notes. Just a suggestion.

I think it is all part of a plot by the BEP to get back at Fox for calling and asking them so many questions.

Quote: Just a suggestion. So, you want them to have problems four denominations instead of just the one. I know what you are implying... half as many $200 notes, one fifth as many $500 notes...

I like how the article says there was a printing issue so they are pressuring the Fort Worth BEP site to accelerate their printing. Yeah, you know, because rushing things won't create the potential for mistakes.

They just want to stall until they find the rest of the missing money from this cargo hijacking. While they claim only one stack was stolen you know how the government likes to cover things up and I wouldn't be surprised if the person they arrested wasn't some fall guy for the mob and all $3.2 mil is missing. Maybe in the future these missing first print run bills will be the 1933 St Gaudens Double Eagle that you can't admit that you have in your collection. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...lls/1653415/

A few new ones are out in circulation. You can buy the star notes on ebay for small premiums. But, I don't think they will be used in commerce until 2015 or 2016. Stupid prolongers.

Why can't they just release the ones that they have inspected and pass? Is there some law or something that they have to have so many available before they can release them? I don't have much confidence that we will ever see these.

I think the first error in printing was scattered throughout the bills. Separating them would take up to 30 yrs. I recall reading. This second problem is different it sounds. All this aside from the theft! What a shame.

Maybe someone more efficient can print them, like De La Rue.

Quote: I just read an article that they are coming out in October Yes, that announcement was made in April for a 6 months notice of the new $100 bills coming out. When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought "Oh boy, how much longer are they delaying its release?" and thankfully, as of now, they are not delaying it any further. They will be coming out, starting October 8th of this year.
