Coinvalues.com has a list of all currencies values. Might be a good place to start.

Just look for the ones with the highest prices as a general rule

Those sites are definitely good for references. Just for starters though, the big keys are 1909-S VDB, 1909-S, 1914-D, and 1931-S (and the 1922 no D and 1955 doubled die if you collect error coins too). The big semi-key dates are 1910-S, 1911-S, 1912-S, 1913-S, 1914-S, 1915-S, 1924-D, 1926-S, and 1970-S small date. I think I got most of the big ones. Sometimes I see people consider the 1922-D a semi-key date, but they're common enough not to break the bank if you buy one. Definitely research them though and use these resources mentioned above.

Also worth noting is which keys and semi-keys are conditional rarities: 1911-S, 1912-S, 1913-S, 1914-D, 1914-S, 1915-S, 1922 plain, 1923-S, 1924-D, and 1926-S are much harder the higher grade you look for. The 23-S and 26-S are worth only a handful of dollars in G to F but VF and higher they start becoming a lot more valuable.

1909-S, 1909-S VDB, 1910-S, and 1931-S do not increase in value as substantially. However, if you wanted something uncirculated, you can consider almost every mintmarked coin from 1909-1928 as collectible.
Rest in Peace

The answer to the question depends on the method you intend to acquire wheats. If roll searching, all are collectable, all other methods of acquisition depends on your budget and taste. All 40's and 50's Wheats are collectable when slabbed MS66. So it depends...

They are all collectible no matter where they come from or what condition they are in!

Thanks for all the information ! I appreciate it all ! I've seen most and use all the web sites posted here . My specialty is mostly Canadian & US 1 Cent errors . But I'd hate to box a great variety with no errors and not know it .

I've wondered this before, too. I googled " Wheat penny key dates" and it showed a few results that showed which ones are more valuable. You could also search " Wheat penny values" and click a page with a list of all of them and pick out which ones are worth more than the common ones.
