Hello. I have discovered my first error coin. It is a 1979-D Lincoln Cent with a rotated die. I have looked around, and discovered they are only really collectible if rotated more than 15 degrees. Mine is rotted ten degrees, so does that make truly worth nothing more than ONE CENT?

Another side question: for a 15 degree rotation, what would the value be?

All help is appreciated. Thank you.

15 degrees is within mint tolerance, but that doesn't mean a 10 or 15 degree rotation is worth anything. coins generally need to be rotated 90 degrees or more to get a premium. That said, you could probably sell yours on the bay for a quarter with a dollar shipping.

keep up the hunt though!

Thank you very much!
Yes I will keep hunting! Finding my first real error was exciting, and I am going to keep it!
I think it is a very cool coin.

Try this out; it will help with any future die errors.
Rest in Peace

If the coin is within mint tolerance then it is not an error coin. Just my opinion.

It is pretty noticeable and I have never seen another one before, so I will keep it.
Thank you for your input everybody.
